I NEED a Honda Beat. Badly. It’s like a miniature NSX. It’s inline 3 revs to 8300 RPM, it weighs 1700LBS, and it was designed by Pininfarina. Also, the interior is amazing:

Kinja'd!!!

The dash mounted speaker pods are ridiculous. The HVAC controls are nestled within an abstract shape, and the seats are Zebras - no, those aren’t seat covers. They all came like this. I love it and I’d import one in a right fucking now if that was financially possible.

Kinja'd!!!

I want to whip around Boston, looking as ridiculous as this guy. It looks like he’s driving a Barbie Jeep.

Kinja'd!!!

So Oppo, what do you lust after that isn’t available in your country?

I think the Honda S660 would be pretty neat. Honestly, I don’t really get that jelly over cars we can’t have. You can import R34s into certain North American countries now, so they’re off the table ;)

Yeah these are great too, I heard that they might make an international version with a 2.0t - that’d be sweet! Though with our luck in the US, we won’t get it anyway...

The Beat is fun, but it’s VERY slow... I’d recommend a Cappucino or an AZ-1 which are similar yet much faster...

If we’re talking cars you can’t import yet. Evo 9 MR WAGON

I wonder if you could get just a rear halfcut and graft it onto a USDM Evo.

Or just swap the body parts and powertrain of an Evo IX into a US-spec Sportback.

But I assume that would be cheating.

It would need more torque mostly... which the cappucino and the AZ-1 have :)

Fun fact the Honda Beat, Suzuki Cappucino and Autozam AZ-1 are all about the same weight and have the same amount of horsepower. Yet the Beat does 0 to 60 in about 13 to 14s, while the other 2 do it in 9s :)

Phase I models have been legal since last year.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Toyota_Se…

Which also means that the majority of Seras are now legal (Phase Is, built from March ‘90 to May ‘91 make up about 12,000 of the 15,852 or so that were built in total).

I’m acting on it! This beast (a 1968 Triumph 2000 estate) will be arriving Stateside from New Zealand in a month or two. It’s been in the family since new, and I’m helping to keep that tradition going. Love the car, too – classy ‘60s looks, sporty chassis and a wonderful little 2-litre straight six? Yes please!

I think we might have. You’re on the North Shore, right? I grew up in Torbay, and learned to drive in a blue 2500TC – my parents only sold it a couple of years ago. What’s the latest on your Mk2?

This one was bought new in the UK by my grandparents, who took it with them when they moved to NZ in the ‘70s. My grandmother only just retired it from daily use last year! I live in the US now, but I was keen to keep it in the family, so I’m having it shipped over, with a boot full of spares.

You wouldn’t happen to have any leads on a front bumper for a Mk1, would you? Apparently it’s taken a bit of damage since I took those photos last time I was home...

Yeah im on the shore. We got the old girl moved from my granddads to my garage, so its more of a pressing issue to get it done but we still havent gotten around to painting it. MK1 front bumper? Hmm, I cant think of anywhere to get one since I’m ususally hunting for mk2 parts. BTW, It’s going to be awesome for you to have a RHD 2000 in the states, you can prove all of DeMuro’s theories around driving it on the wrong side of the road.
